One of the key players in content in the Middle East is MBC – The Middle East Broadcasting Corporation – and they have been making big strides in the OTT space. Their latest is the Shahid VIP service, which provides some of the best local linear and VOD content within a very well designed and developed OTT application. And we’re glad to say the app is also available on VIDAA devices.
The Shahid app has since its inception been one of the most popular OTT services in the territory, frequently topping the usage of even the most popular global players, and the VIP version sure is a major step forward. But in cooperation with Hisense MENA, we’ve gone beyond just offering the app on our platform. We’ve also partnered to provide a whole year of free access to the service for all buyers of Hisense VIDAA powered 4k devices over the next year and in March 2021, we’re launching devices with a dedicated branded remote control button for the service, which will even improve the ease of use for this amazing service.
And Shahid VIP is not the only service from MBC Group that we have onboarded to our platform. Earlier this year we have also launched Middle East’s most popular news provider Alarabiya and its sister channel Alhadath to VIDAA devices, providing customers in the region access to the number one news source at the tip of their fingers.
